The Windsor Parade Corporation is pleased to announce that on Sunday May 25 2008 the RCMP Musical Ride will be performing at Windsor Stadium at 2pm and 7pm. This is a tremendous event for our community as the RCMP Musical Ride Team only visits Ontario every four years.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to become involved in this event, through your participation in the RCMP’s “Say Neigh to Drugs “campaign” and contest. Included in this package is a colouring page for K-Grade 4 and a description of the short essay contest for the Grade 5-8.
The members of the RCMP Musical Ride, through cooperation and participation with RCMP Detachments and the local police services, would like your help in building on this partnership in your community. To accomplish our goal, we would like to propose the following:
- That you run an essay contest for grades 5 - 8, on why they should "Say Neigh to Drugs". Younger grades can be given the opportunity to participate in a colouring contest with the same message.
Winners of this online contest will be chosen by The Windsor Parade Corporation:
The winners will
- Have their essays published in the local newspaper to further educate and bring awareness to the forefront of the community;
- Set up a display of the winning essays and pictures at the stables;
- Receive recognition in the means of a special gift from the members of the RCMP Musical Ride when touring their community;
- Be given free access to a performance of the Musical Ride in their community;
- Be recognized via announcement at a performance of the Musical Ride;
- Receive a VIP tour of the stables and meet the members and horses or the Musical Ride (if location and time permits).
All entries should be mailed to The Windsor Parade Corporation1168 Drouillard Road, Windsor, Ontario N8Y 2R1 and be received by no later than May 19 2008
