The 911 Service Awards Program recognizes outstanding community service beyond the line of duty by
one individual from Fire, Police, and EMS Services, chosen by peer nominations from across Windsor and Essex County. The nomination forms are distributed to all levels of County, City, Provincial and Federal,
Police, Fire and Ambulance, O.P.P, RCMP, Campus Security, and CN and CPR Police. The focus of the
award is two-fold: to recognize an individual for their outstanding service while on the job, and their efforts
within the community as a volunteer. The last line of the Jaycee Creed, who were the originators of these
awards reads “Service to Humanity is the Best Work of Life!” We at the Parade Corporation continue to
believe in that line and wish to continue to carry it forward into this year’s award ceremonies. The Windsor
Parade Corporation is a natural successor to this event owing to our close work with the services, during
our special events.
